Microsoft (MSFT) is mulling delaying or shelving its 2030 clean energy target as it attempts to remove obstacles in the race to build more data centers, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The company is still discussing the matter, and a decision has yet to be made, the report said. Microsoft targets to be carbon negative by 2030.

A Microsoft spokesperson said that the company continues to look for opportunities to maintain its annual matching goal.
